Don’t forget about tuning of your mass spectrometer

Tuning is an essential part of using a mass spectrometer because it helps obtain accurate mass spectrometry data. Before analyzing samples, it’s important to adjust the mass spectrometer’s settings for optimal performance.

There are two ways to tune a mass spectrometer: automatic tuning and manual tuning. Automatic tuning includes methods such as automatic tuning, standard spectrum tuning, and fast tuning. If the analysis results will be compared to a spectral library, it’s usually best to start with automatic tuning, followed by standard spectrum tuning, to ensure reliable results.
